School Meal Accounts and Free/Reduced Lunch Applications
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As the new school year begins, it's time to set up your child's lunch account and apply for free or reduced-price meals. Please note the following important details:
1. Application for Free/Reduced Meals:
- Start Date: Applications open on July 1st each year.
- Reapplication: Must be done annually as eligibility is valid for only one year.
- Required Information:
- Student ID number (provided via email post-enrollment).
- Service Member’s LES and spouse pay voucher (if applicable).
- Student’s name as listed on enrollment forms.
- School district information according to your location.
- Continental U.S. DoDEA Schools: Use the military installation name
Important Notes:
- Household Income: Report gross pay (include spouse’s income). Exclude housing allowances, COLA, imminent danger pay, or hostile fire pay.
How to Apply:
- Visit Linq Connect to apply for free and reduced meals.
2. Managing Lunch Payments:
- Online Payments: Use the TITAN Family Portal at Linq Connect with a $2.60 service charge per transaction. You can set up recurring payments, get low balance alerts, view purchases, and split payments.
- In-Person Payments: Drop off cash or check at your school’s cafeteria with no service fee, or send it with your child in a sealed envelope clearly marked with their name and amount.
- Check Payments: Make checks payable to "School Meals Program," noting the child's name and account details. If a check is returned due to insufficient funds, a service charge will apply, and future check payments will be suspended until the issue is resolved.
